Jiggerbug is a website that offers audio books at reasonable prices. This site is good for bookworms that do not have time to read, but have time to listen to some of their favorite books. They do not offer the large selection that some other audio book sites offer, but nonetheless, what they do have is a pretty decent selection.
Features
If you are not looking for a specific audio book, or even if you are, then Jiggerbug may or may not have it. They do have some excellent audio books in their catalogs. They offer lists to choose from like the New York Times Best Sellers List, Oprah’s Favorites and a few more. There is also a very convenient search box that allows you to search by keyword. With Jiggerbug, you can buy or rent audio books. The only problem with renting the audio books is that even though you get it as a download, the audio book that you have decided to rent is only available for fourteen days. After that the license expires you can not listen to the audio book anymore. They do offer the traditional form of renting which is getting the audio book in the form of a cassette tape or cd.
They only offer around fifty-one different categories on many different topics, but if that is not enough for you, then you can also search and browse the subcategories in order to narrow your search down.
Memberships
They offer a two week try it before you buy it membership for the rental plan that you choose, if you decide you would rather rent the audio books. The rental memberships start at $14.95 per month, but that only allows you to have one audio book out at a time. They have different plans for renting that allow you to combine getting your audio books by download and by mail. There is a plan that is only $24.95 that allows you to have two cd versions and up to three download rentals per month.
Usability
Juggerbug.com is a very easy site to navigate. The site is well organized and the search engine is easy to use as well.
Summary
Jiggerbug.com is a very good site for audio books because they bring something different to the table. The ability to rent audio books and get them via download. They also offer very reasonable rates. They have only been around since 2004, so they still have plenty of room to grow and expand their list of books.
