When it comes to controlling the software there are multiple levels you can take it at. Wizards when you want to design something quick and easy, or start from scratch taking every aspect of the label to your own imagination. There is support with linked fields, serializations and arithmetic functions, and algorithms.
There are several options that you can use with the pro version that are supported by the following:
- ERP
- WMS type databases
- SQL commands
- ODBC drivers
- Oracle
- AS/400
- Informex
There are other inventory programs available for use with this program, just make sure they are both compatible with each other before you take any actions.
For the printing options you will be able to support ActiveX automations, which will also act as the print engine that will run other popular programs available. This software is very flexible and compatible which will assist in simplifying every barcode label design you take on.
Barcodes:
There are several industry style barcodes that you will be able to design including linear and 2D with a total of over seventy five barcode fonts available with the pro edition. When it comes to the RFID labels and tags you will be able to support ISO and UHF types but you will need a NiceDriver printer driver to be able to print with a thermal printer.
Compatibility:
Data and database options are usually a big must for open options when it comes to barcode and label designers. With NiceLabel you will be able to work with pretty much any of the two. You will be able to import several text types such as ASCII and CSV including from Excel. There is support for ODBC and OLE DB databases and BDE database drivers. If you need to you will be able to use Unicode and custom SQL scripting to take your works even further. When you are working with several database types at a time, NiceLabel includes a manager that will make it a lot easier for you to do so. If you have NiceWatch it will come in handy if you purchase the pro version you will be able to get serial port connectivity making it that you can print from the Internet with a POP3 or TCP/IP interface. Generally, the software will allow you to send print jobs to any printer available that has a NiceDriver included into it.
The software has been offered in twenty-six different languages making it compatible globally. Their support line also has international support for those of a different language.
Label Designer:
There are many features available to assist with the development process of your barcodes and labels. It is capable of working with many different font types, has your basic illustration elements, and incorporate graphics if needed. You will be able to resize and realign your text to make it the best fit and work with rich text. The bar codes have the option to be manipulated in many ways included the thickness, line lengths, colouring, and styles. Time stamps, serialized fields, and prompted values can all be automatic or generated onto your labels and barcodes. If you feel the need to, import images or take on the ActiveX programming interface to take your designs to the next level.
Ease of Use:
For new users you will be able to use wizards that are very simple for navigation. There are a lot of help files, tutorials, and FAQs, which have all been explained, clearly all available through your toolbar. So if you have a printer that is unable to do RFID you will not be able to make these versions of labels.
