Netflix Review Netflix is the internet kingpin when it comes to online movie rentals. With over 75,000 movies in stock and available for rent, Netflix is the largest online movie rental website online today. Netflix has 35 distribution centers located across the United States, which more than double its closest competitor.
Already possessing a stellar reputation, Netflix certainly has nothing to lose by changing their policy around. They're sticking to their guns, however, and they still maintain a plan that's right for everyone. Netflix has plans starting from $5, going all the way to $30+ per month. Each plan has it's own set of conditions regulating how many movies you can rent, and even how many you can stream off of the internet.
Signing Up for Netflix Signing up for Netflix was painless, and in a matter of minutes we were signed up with their most popular plan ($17.99 a month for 3 movies at a time and 18 hours of online video playback). Netflix is set up in such a way that you can rent as many movies as you'd like, so long as you keep them within your maximum “out limit”.
Our plan, for example, allows us to have 3 DVD's out at any given time. Once we've sent them back, we can rent another 3. We actually managed to rent 18 movies in a single month- your milage may vary, depending on how long you keep the movie(s).
Using Netflix Creating our lists of movies is pretty painless, and Netflix has everything divided into categories, such as “Most Popular” or “Recently Released”. It took us a few minutes to get our first 3 picked out, and we had them in our hands two days later. Once we were done with a movie, we sent it back using the pre-paid shipping envelope Netflix includes with each rental. Not paying for shipping is a pretty good deal.
One feature that we really like is the online video. Our package includes 18 hours a month, and allows us to watch whatever we want at whatever time we want. There's no delay either, so if we want to watch Casino Royale at 4 in the morning, we can go right ahead! This also works out well for us, as we can stream movies onto any computer that we want as soon as we've logged in. We use it for out laptops, and we've even hooked it up to our 42” LCD TV (it looked a bit garbled, but still near-DVD quality).
Conclusion Netflix is a great website, and they have plans that are right for everyone. We like how we can pick and choose what we need; if you don't want to use the streaming video, you can always opt for a plan that doesn't include it.
