MyFax Review

This service has undergone a bit of a transformation in the last little while.  When it originally launched, users were assigned a telephone number that was used as their fax number.  However, long distance and international rates still applied when faxing these numbers.  Now, MyFax.com offers toll free fax numbers, meaning that it costs nothing to fax them.

As well, the personal package has changed as well.  It is still the best service in the industry, offering the right mix of value and performance.  The price, which is still only $10 a month, makes this service available to anyone (who doesn't have $10 a month?).  This is still the best online fax service around, especially when considering the bang for your buck.

Features

MyFax.com gives its customers a toll free fax number, so that sending faxes to them is completely free.  This is perfect if you own a small business.  MyFax.com also accepts over 40 different file extensions, so it's safe to say that you'll be able to fax just about anything.  Some services are limited in what you can send, restricting image or CAD formats- thankfully, MyFax has made the extra effort required to accommodate a wider variety of users.

MyFax is always on, just like a high speed internet connection, meaning that you'll never miss a fax.  As well, all of your received faxes go to your inbox.  This makes MyFax a safe and private service.

Using MyFax

You can send and receive faxes straight from your e-mail.  You can do this anywhere that you access your e-mail from.  For us, this meant that our laptops became mobile faxes and, for one staffer, MSN Hotmail became a fax machine.  This type of service is ultra-convenient, and we really liked the way that we are able to access our faxes from anywhere.

We were able to send CAD drawings, JPEG's, TIFF's, Microsoft Word files, spreadsheets, and more using MyFax, and they all turned out great.  We were able to receive just about everything, and the faxes came as a clear PDF file.

The $10 per month allows you to receive 200 pages and send 100 pages every month.  If you exceed that rate, it's a base price of $0.10 per page.  We highly doubt that you'd be using more than 300 combined faxes every month, though there are more comprehensive packages available if you are fax heavy.  

Any issue that we had was handled professionally by their customer support, and we have no complaints to make about their service.

Conclusion

We are very happy with MyFax.  It is, and always has been, the standard for online faxing in terms of price, capability, and convenience.  We highly recommend that you incorporate this service into your home or business.
