A few services have sprung up in the last little while which offer full length TV shows and DVD movies for download. These services are legal, and you can download without fear of reprisal from the MPAA. However, as is the case with most things, not all movie download sites are created equal.

Some sites may severely limit what you can do with the movies, while others may only allow you to have the movies for a set period of time- say, 6 hours or so. Since these companies don’t necessarily voice these restrictions, it is up to you to find out for yourself.

Important factors to consider:

  • Do you have freedom? – As in, can you download whatever you want, whenever you want to?

  • What rights do you have to the movie? - Do you own that movie, or does the company own it? Will the movie files still be present after you delete the program?

  • How much can you watch it? - Is there a restriction on how much you can watch the content that you downloaded?

We recommend the sites here, as our personal experience have shown them to be honest and worth your consideration.

A visit to your local video store will give you the same selection as every other video store in the country. If all you watch is the latest and greatest from Hollywood, you may not mind. If you are looking for unique, specialized content, however, you’ll probably have to keep looking.

Have you ever wondered how some companies are able to enter a market and simply dominate it from the get go? There aren’t a lot of examples of this phenomenon anymore, though one could certainly point their finger at Google. Apple, however, remained a bit of an underdog for quite some time. It wasn’t until recently that Apple began the climb towards the top.

If there’s one thing the internet is good at, it’s bringing people of common interests together. YouTube is a prime example of this fact. Where else can millions of people go to watch other people get drop-kicked in the groin? Were it not for the generous bandwidth offered by YouTube, it simply wouldn’t be possible.

CinemaNow

CinemaNow costs twice as much as their closest competitors, but we still consider the price a justifiable one. Your purchase of a CinemaNow membership (at $30 a month) gives you access to 1,400 movies (and growing). There is a little bit for everyone, ranging from sports to adult films, with everything that goes in between.

Accessing movies online has become an explosive industry, with many services offering thousands of movie titles to choose from at attractive price points. Some services actually ship you a physical DVD, while others simply allow you to download the movie to your computer (albeit with some restrictions). Movielink is one such service that allows you to purchase a movie to download to your computer.
