Can you remember all of your passwords and usernames? If so, you’re a lot smarter than us, as we sure can’t. Our system administrator constantly has to e-mail us lost passwords and user account information, and though he gets quite annoyed, it’s worked well for us. However, we highly doubt that everyone has a system admin that is willing to constantly look up various username and password combinations.

The solution is a password manager, which will store all of your username and password information for you. Most password managers can:

  • Automatically learn new username/password combinations – Why enter it manually when the program can learn it automatically?

  • Memorize what usernames/passwords belong to which websites – This further streamlines and simplifies your browsing experience.

Don’t know which program is worth your time? Try one of our top five. You will not be disappointed.

Symantec is a behemoth of a company, and just about everyone has used one of their products. They have successfully marketed their anti-virus and firewall in such a way that many people now swear by them, regardless of how effective the product actually is (or isn't). So, it only makes sense that the software giant would expand it's reach

Modern computing is all about convenience: making your life a bit easier, either through innovation or through reinvention of the wheel. This can be seen from a variety of different perspectives, such as a desktop manager or a password manager. In the case of the latter, it comes down to integration and seamlessness.

Using the same password for every application doesn't make any sense, and it's a great way to get your accounts compromised. If someone happened to get a hold of your e-mail password, for example, they'd also have access to your web banking, private websites, and anything else that used those password sets. The problem is that it can be a hard endeavor to make unique passwords for each application or account, as remembering them all can become quite difficult.
