When you are deciding on a video game rental service, keep the following in mind:

  • Some cost more – Make sure that you choose the membership plan that is right for you. Some websites may require a larger membership premium than what you are looking to spend. There is so much competition in this market that you won’t need to compromise.

  • Shipping times – Find out what the average shipping time for the service is. Are you willing to wait?

  • Selection – This one is obvious. Do the service that you are considering having the selection of games that you are looking for? Make sure that it has the games that you want before you go and sign up.

  • Free trial – If the service you are looking at offers a free trial, perhaps you should give it a shot. At the worst, all you need to do is the mail the game back.

Gamerang Review

I don't really enjoy buying games and movies because I only use them once or twice. Some games, like Gran Turismo, have taken a few hours of my attention. But normally, I play through it once, beat it, and call it a day. I have always been a big fan of video rental stores because I only have to pay for a game when I rent it, and the cost of $5 or $6 per game certainly doesn't deter me from playing the same that would have cost me $50 to buy.

GameFly Review

I had this big, long, well-written review all done up and ready to go, but I've since decided to completely change it. You see, I was commissioned to write a review of a new game rental service called Gamefly. The problem, however, is that once I signed up with Gamefly to write the review I was unable to do it within the specifications required.

GameznFlicks Review

I don't really rent movies and video games, so when I was asked to write a review of GameznFlicks.com, I really had no idea what to look for. So, taking the creative way out,

I told my 12 year old son that we would get the service for one month. I said that if he used it, and wrote a review (be it good or bad) that I would give him $25 for his efforts.

Living in the country has introduced many changes that I wasn't expecting: the water sucks, the taps have lower pressure, and going to rent a movie or game has become a major pain in the butt. The nearest video store is a half an hour drive away- a one hour round trip, plus, just for a 3 day game rental isn't exactly my idea of fun.

Video games have ruined my life. Ever since I first picked up a Nintendo Entertainment System in 1990 I've found myself obsessing over the latest releases and console upgrades. Over time, I've probably spent more one buying video games then I have on food, clothing, or going on dates with the wife. Lately, however, I've been unfortunately faced with a financial decision: it is time to stop adding to my 2,000+ game library, as I can no longer afford to keep purchasing games.
